Tyler and Emily‘s story will always be dear to my heart. I had the ultimate privilege of capturing their surprise proposal last Christmas and it was full of intention, emotions, and quiet excitement. So, of course, when they reached out to discuss doing their engagement session at Cannon Beach, I was totally in! To be able to document their story from the stage where he asked, to the season of planning what’s next is such an honor.
When we first started thinking about their session, they wanted something that felt natural and relaxed. No stiff poses. No pressure. Just the two of them, savoring time together, in a place that felt like an adventure. They picked Cannon Beach, because it checked every box. It‘s a location you‘re never going to get twice, with moody skies, rugged coastline, and the kind of vibe that makes you slow down and take a deep breath.
This shoot wasn‘t about pursuing perfect light. This was about the moment. Tyler and Emily walked barefoot through the sand, laughed unapologetically, and inhabited the landscape like they were exactly where they should be. I hardly needed to direct them. They were simply themselves and that was more than enough. There were so many little moments during their session. A touch of a hand. A quiet moment to breathe in the view. The real, unapologetic love that doesn‘t need to look like something to feel like so much.
Once again, Tyler and Emily, thank you for your trust. From that heartfelt proposal to our raw, blustery afternoon now, your love has been such a privilege to witness. Sessions like this remind me of why I do what I do. Not for the poses or the perfect Pinterest moments, but the real ones. The real moments that feel like home.
If you’re dreaming of the Oregon Coast, I can’t recommend it enough. From the iconic sea stacks of Cannon Beach to the hidden coves and quiet forest-lined beaches further south, this entire coastline is filled with places that feel untouched and wildly romantic. There’s space here to slow down, breathe deeply, and celebrate your love in a way that feels entirely your own.
Whether you’re planning an adventurous elopement, a small and intentional wedding, or a laid-back engagement session, I’d love to help create something meaningful together. The Oregon Coast is one of my favorite places to photograph because it invites you to be present—weather and all—and gives back some truly unforgettable moments in return.
I’m now booking 2026 elopements, weddings, and sessions all along the Oregon Coast. If you’re ready to start dreaming, I’m here to walk alongside you, help you find the perfect spot, and document it all with honesty and heart. Click HERE to inquire.
