A private ceremony at a Port Angeles VRBO, handwritten vows whispered in the rainforest, and golden-hour portraits on the shores of Lake Crescent. All under a gentle Pacific Northwest rain. Travis and Kaelyn’s intimate elopement showcased the beauty of Olympic National Park and the ease of all-inclusive planning with Beginning and End Photo.
Travis and Kaelyn met during sophomore year at a Sadie Hawkins dance. Kaelyn recalls Travis wearing a red shirt and attending with another girl, while she and her best friend dressed as devils. A brief conversation outside the gym led to an Instagram message that night. Travis asked for her number.
Their connection deepened through late-night phone calls. Kaelyn shares, “I had never talked on the phone with a boy before him. The first time he called, I panicked and almost didn’t answer. We talked for hours about nothing and everything. Time flew by.”
Travis even watched One Tree Hill to stay in sync with her episodes, a small gesture that defined their relationship. He did what made the other happy, even if it was not a personal favorite.
The proposal took place on an unusually warm October day at a botanical garden in Rockford. Travis knelt with a simple “Will you marry me?” He briefly blacked out from nerves. A hidden photographer captured the moment.
Today, they cherish everyday adventures together. Cruises, trying new restaurants, Costco runs, bike rides, and quiet evenings with their cats, Luna and Mochi. Kaelyn values Travis’s calm demeanor and gentle heart. Friends describe them as a perfect match. Similar yet balanced, always including each other, and rarely apart.
Lake Crescent offers couples seeking an intimate Olympic National Park wedding unmatched natural beauty and privacy. Key reasons include:
Popular Lake Crescent elopement locations include forested coves for vows, the historic lodge dock for portraits, and adjacent beaches for relaxed, golden-hour shots.
It started at their bright, airy VRBO in Port Angeles at their VRBO. Sunlight filled the rooms, giving Kaelyn the perfect spot for hair and makeup while Travis kicked back and relaxed. They decided to skip the first look, wanting that special moment to happen right at the ceremony.
From there, everything flowed naturally. Family stood close as the officiant led a simple ring exchange, and custom florals added just the right touch of elegance.
Next, we took a quick drive and a gentle hike into the forest near Lake Crescent. The rain was soft, almost like a whisper, as they found a secluded clearing to read their handwritten vows. It was just the two of them, sharing words meant only for each other.
We moved to the water’s edge for portraits. The dock and shoreline gave us stunning views with mist lifting off the lake and evergreens framing every shot. The light was dreamy, and the rain only made it better.
After a quick wardrobe change into something cozy, we headed to the Strait of Juan de Fuca beach. The wind picked up, the waves rolled in, and they laughed through it all as golden light peeked through the clouds.
Along the way, I captured the little details that tell their story. The invitation laid out on driftwood, close-up shots of their rings. Then everyone returned to the VRBO for dinner, cake, and dancing under string lights. Family had flown in from across the country, and even without a traditional bridal party, the love in the room made it feel complete.
